Fat Cat Fast Twenty app for iPhone and iPad
Developer: Point-and-Read, Inc.
First release : 18 May 2012
App size: 1.96 Mb
A basic assistive communications app with 28 words – designed for facilitating quick responses in a directed conversation. For example, it’s perfect in a classroom for teacher-led discussions. It may also be useful for certain parent-guided exchanges.
Designed to keep the conversation going.
Fast Twenty uses a screen divided into a four-by-five grid of twenty responses. The displayed responses are part of a single scrollable vocabulary page that gives speedy access to 28 words. If the user finds scrolling difficult, scrolling can be disabled, and all 28 words will be displayed on a single screen with slightly smaller buttons.
The 28 words include
(a) the 20 words in the “Give Me Twenty” communication set,
(b) 16 of the most frequently used words in a toddler’s vocabulary,
(c) 9 dyads of opposite pairs (such as “in” and “out”), and
(d) words from 7 of the 10 phatic categories in other Fat Cat Chat apps.
Integrates with your e-mail, Twitter, instant messaging, and texting. You can also connect to other Fat Cat Chat apps, and pass text among them.
